The history of reality shows began in 1948. Such examples as “Survivor” and “American Idol” made this genre very popular among people. After such shows ordinary people can become famous stars. People’s voting for heroes of this show sometimes is much better then for President Election.
This year we will have the possibility to see several new reality shows which can greatly entertain us:
1.”American Gladiators: promises to be rather interesting and exciting especially for those who are sports fans. In this show four men and four women will fight against each other. The hosts of the show are Hulk Hogan, wrestling legend, and Laila Ali, woman-boxer. You can watch it on Mondays, at 8:00 pm, NBC.
2. “Baby Borrowers” – is going to be very intriguing one. In this show five young couples at the age from 18 till 20 will experience who to be an adult and what adult life is. They will have to find home and job, take care of babies, hyperactive children, unruly teenagers, pets and older people. After the end of the show participants will get vocation at luxury beach. See it on Wednesdays, at 8:00 pm, NBC.
3. “I Survived Japanese Game Show” – this one is going to be extremely funny. Ten Americans will be delivered to Japan in order to participate at game show. You’ll have to laugh a lot while watching how Americans become familiar with Japanese culture. You can see this show on Tuesdays, at 9:00 pm, ABC.
4. “Celebrity Family Feud”. Well, you must be sick of celebrities, but this show is a pleasant exception and surely it is worth to be seen. You won’t regret! It is shown on Tuesdays, at 8:00 pm, NBC.

American Gladiators $94.05 American Gladiators (1989-1996) was an American competition television program that matched a cast of amateur athletes against each other, as well as against the show’s own gladiators, in contests of strength and agility. The first competition sponsored by Dan Carr and John C. Ferraro was held at Erie Tech High School in Erie, PA and sold to Samuel Goldwyn Productions/MGM where the format was expanded into American Gladiators. The show was taped at Universal Studios Hollywood until 1991, then moved to Gladiator Arena for the rest of its initial run. The National Indoor Arena, home to the UK version, hosted the International Gladiators competitions. The series, a co-production of Trans World International and Four Point Entertainment, was distributed by Samuel Goldwyn Television. An effort to launch a live American Gladiators show on the Las Vegas Strip became mired in a securities fraud prosecution. However, the series was restarted in 2008. This version of the show currently airs in the USA on ESPN Classic, and several episodes have been made available for download on Apple’s iTunes Service. |

Excerpt: Gladiators was an Australian television series which aired on the Seven Network in 2008. It was a revival of the earlier series of the same name, and was based on the American version of the show, which was also revived in 2008.
